Peki ayn\u0131 ki\u015finin Einstein&#8217;in k\u00fctle \u00e7ekim teorisinde hata buldu\u011funu duymu\u015f muydunuz?<\/p>\n<p>Duymam\u0131\u015f olman\u0131z\u0131 anlay\u0131\u015fla kar\u015f\u0131l\u0131yorum \u00e7\u00fcnk\u00fc \u00fclkemizde bu de\u011ferlere hakketti\u011fi de\u011ferin pek de verilmedi\u011fi a\u015fik\u00e2r. Fakat k\u00fcresel bilim dal\u0131nda \u00e7ok sayg\u0131n bir yerleri oldu\u011funu s\u00f6yleyebilirim.<\/p>\n<p>Peki b\u00fct\u00fcn bunlar nas\u0131l olabiliyor?<\/p>\n<p>Konuya ba\u015flamadan \u00f6nce, ad\u0131m Salih Ergili ve Atat\u00fcrk \u00dcniversitesi&#8217;nde \u0130ngiliz Dili ve Edebiyat\u0131 B\u00f6l\u00fcm\u00fcnde lisans e\u011fitimi almaktay\u0131m. Misafir olarak bana yaz\u0131 yazma f\u0131rsat\u0131 tan\u0131yan &#8216;HerKafadanSes&#8217; ekibine \u00e7ok te\u015fekk\u00fcr ederim.<\/p>\n<p>Einstein&#8217;a kafa tutan T\u00fcrk olarak da bilinen Prof. Dr. H\u00fcseyin Y\u0131lmaz 13 A\u011fustos 1924&#8217;te Ac\u0131payam&#8217;da do\u011fdu. Daha 3 ya\u015f\u0131ndayken annesini, 11 ya\u015f\u0131ndayken de babas\u0131n\u0131 kaybeden H\u00fcseyin&#8217;i zor bir hayat ge\u00e7irece\u011fi \u00e7ocuklu\u011fundan belliydi. Okula gidemedi\u011fi i\u00e7in \u00e7obanl\u0131k yaparak ailesinin ge\u00e7imine katk\u0131 sa\u011flamaya \u00e7al\u0131\u015ft\u0131. Lise zamanlar\u0131nda kat\u0131ld\u0131\u011f\u0131 bir matematik yar\u0131\u015fmas\u0131nda birinci olan H\u00fcseyin&#8217;e bir kitap hediye edildi. H\u00fcseyin heyecan ve merak i\u00e7erisinde kitab\u0131 bir gecede bitirdi. Ertesi g\u00fcn Fizik \u00f6\u011fretmenine gitti, &#8220;Bu kitapta eksiklik var&#8221; dedi. \u00d6\u011fretmen \u015fa\u015f\u0131rd\u0131. \u00c7\u00fcnk\u00fc H\u00fcseyin&#8217;in bahsetti\u011fi eksiklik, G\u00f6recelilik Teorisi hakk\u0131ndayd\u0131. S\u00f6z konusu teorinin \u00f6nemli bir par\u00e7as\u0131n\u0131n kitapta olmad\u0131\u011f\u0131n\u0131 fark etmi\u015fti H\u00fcseyin. Fen \u00f6\u011fretmeni konuyu \u0130T\u00dc&#8217;de kendi hocas\u0131 olan rahmetli fizik profes\u00f6r\u00fc Nusret K\u00fcrk\u00e7\u00fco\u011flu&#8217;na mektup yazarak iletti. Nusret K\u00fcrk\u00e7\u00fco\u011flu bunun \u00fczerine H\u00fcseyin&#8217;in liseyi bitirince \u0130T\u00dc Elektrik M\u00fchendisli\u011fi b\u00f6l\u00fcm\u00fcne gelmesini istedi.<\/p>\n<p>Nihayet \u00fcniversite zaman\u0131 gelip \u00e7att\u0131 ve \u0130stanbul Teknik \u00dcniversitesi&#8217;nin Elektrik B\u00f6l\u00fcm\u00fc&#8217;n\u00fc kazanan H\u00fcseyin Y\u0131lmaz, fak\u00fclteyi de birincilikle bitirdi.&nbsp; \u0130T\u00dc&#8217;deki \u00e7al\u0131\u015fmalar\u0131 s\u0131ras\u0131nda, Maxwell Teorisinde \u015fa\u015f\u0131rt\u0131c\u0131 bir ikilik (duality) oldu\u011funu g\u00f6sterdi ve bitirme tezi olarak yapt\u0131\u011f\u0131 bu \u00e7al\u0131\u015fmay\u0131 Frans\u0131z hocas\u0131 Marcel Fauche taraf\u0131ndan Sorbonne \u00dcniversitesi&#8217;ne g\u00f6nderdi. 1950&#8217;de lisans\u0131n\u0131, bir y\u0131l sonras\u0131nda da y\u00fcksek lisans\u0131n\u0131 tamamlad\u0131. Art\u0131k t\u00fcm konulara hakimdi ve ara\u015ft\u0131rmalar\u0131nda daha derin konulara y\u00f6nelmeye ba\u015flam\u0131\u015ft\u0131. \u00c7al\u0131\u015fmalar\u0131 sonucunda baz\u0131 teorilerin ispat\u0131 ya da temel deneyler \u00fczerine \u00e7al\u0131\u015fmas\u0131 beklenirken o, Einstein&#8217;\u0131n k\u00fctle \u00e7ekim teorisinde bir hata buldu\u011funu hocalar\u0131yla payla\u015ft\u0131. Hocalar\u0131 onun ortaya att\u0131\u011f\u0131 soruyu pek anlamad\u0131lar. Hocalar\u0131ndan biri, &#8220;Bu \u00e7al\u0131\u015fmalar\u0131n\u0131 bilse bilse Amerika Boston&#8217;daki Massachusetts Teknoloji Enstit\u00fcs\u00fc&#8217;nde (MIT) g\u00f6revli Prof. Dr. Morse bilir deyip mektupla ona g\u00f6nderdi. Prof. Morse, b\u00f6yle bir \u015feyi tek bir ki\u015finin bulmas\u0131n\u0131n ola\u011fan\u00fcst\u00fc bir \u015fey oldu\u011funu ifade etmi\u015f ve t\u00fcm masraflar\u0131n\u0131 kar\u015f\u0131lamak \u00fczere H\u00fcseyin&#8217;in Amerika&#8217;ya gelmesini teklif etmi\u015fti.<\/p>\n\n<p>1951&#8217;de hem Sorbonne \u00dcniversitesi&#8217;den hem de Massachusetts Teknoloji Enstit\u00fcs\u00fc&#8217;nde (MIT) burs ve kabul alan Y\u0131lmaz, MIT&#8217;yi tercih ederek doktora \u00e7al\u0131\u015fmas\u0131na ve Prof. Phillip Morse&#8217;un ara\u015ft\u0131rma asistan\u0131 olarak akademik hayat\u0131na ba\u015flad\u0131. \u0130ngilizcesi iyi olmad\u0131\u011f\u0131 i\u00e7in hocas\u0131n\u0131n ona verece\u011fi tez konusunda anla\u015famad\u0131klar\u0131ndan rivayete g\u00f6re hocas\u0131na &#8220;Write on the blackboard&#8221; demi\u015f, Prof. Morse da H\u00fcseyin&#8217;in tez konusunu tahtaya yazm\u0131\u015ft\u0131. Hi\u00e7bir ba\u015fka a\u00e7\u0131klamaya ihtiyac\u0131 olmadan konusunu birka\u00e7 i\u015faretle anlam\u0131\u015f, \u00e7al\u0131\u015fmalar\u0131na ba\u015flam\u0131\u015ft\u0131. MIT&#8217;de genelde tez konular\u0131n\u0131n 5 ila 9 senede bitirilebiliyor olmas\u0131na ra\u011fmen, H\u00fcseyin \u00e7al\u0131\u015fmas\u0131n\u0131 3 ay sonra bitirmi\u015f ve hocas\u0131n\u0131n kar\u015f\u0131s\u0131na \u00e7\u0131km\u0131\u015ft\u0131. Hocas\u0131 teslim ald\u0131\u011f\u0131 teze \u015f\u00fcpheyle yakla\u015fsa da birka\u00e7 g\u00fcnl\u00fck incelemenin sonunda bu tezin eksiksiz oldu\u011funu g\u00f6rd\u00fc. Morse, birka\u00e7 g\u00fcn sonra H\u00fcseyin&#8217;i \u00e7a\u011f\u0131rd\u0131. Tezinin bitti\u011fini, ancak bulunduklar\u0131 yerin MIT oldu\u011funu ve hemen doktora diplomas\u0131 alamayaca\u011f\u0131n\u0131, \u0130stedi\u011fi dersleri al\u0131p iki y\u0131l sonra gelmesini s\u00f6yledi. \u0130ki y\u0131l sonra H\u00fcseyin Y\u0131lmaz doktoras\u0131n\u0131 bitirdi.<\/p>\n<p>Daha sonra Princeton \u00dcniversitesi&#8217;ne gitti. Orada \u00fcnl\u00fc fizik\u00e7i Albert Einstein ile \u00e7al\u0131\u015fma f\u0131rsat\u0131 buldu. \u00d6zellikle k\u00fctle\u00e7ekim teorisi \u00fczerine \u00e7al\u0131\u015fan Y\u0131lmaz, sonradan renk alg\u0131s\u0131 ve konu\u015fma-alg\u0131lama konular\u0131na da ilgi duymaya ba\u015flad\u0131 ve renk alg\u0131s\u0131na y\u00f6nelik yeni bir teori geli\u015ftirdi Birka\u00e7 y\u0131l sonra Boston&#8217;a geri d\u00f6n\u00fcp icatlar\u0131 destekleyen bir firmada \u00e7al\u0131\u015fmaya ba\u015flad\u0131. Burada bilgisayarlar ile konu\u015fman\u0131n onlara talimat vermeye y\u00f6nelik projeler y\u00fcr\u00fctt\u00fc 1955 y\u0131l\u0131nda, \u00e7al\u0131\u015fmalar\u0131n\u0131 yak\u0131ndan takip etti\u011fi, \u00fcnl\u00fc fizik\u00e7i Albert Einstein&#8217;in kendisi kadar \u00fcnl\u00fc fonksiyon teorisinde eksikler tespit etti ve bunu bir mektupla \u00fcnl\u00fc bilim adam\u0131na bildirdi. Little \u015firketinde \u00fcst d\u00fczey y\u00f6netici olarak \u00e7al\u0131\u015fmaya ba\u015flad\u0131. Burada yapt\u0131\u011f\u0131 \u00e7al\u0131\u015fmalar bug\u00fcn <em>Siri<\/em> ad\u0131yla kulland\u0131\u011f\u0131m\u0131z sesli komut sistemlerinin atas\u0131d\u0131r. H\u00fcseyin Y\u0131lmaz &#8220;sesle kumanda edilen bir bilgisayar\u0131n&#8221; ilk tasarlay\u0131c\u0131s\u0131 olarak kay\u0131tlara ge\u00e7ti. Bu y\u0131llarda NASA (Ulusal Havac\u0131l\u0131k ve Uzay Dairesi) ile bir proje y\u00fcr\u00fctmekte olan Y\u0131lmaz, konu\u015fmalar\u0131 kodlayan elektronik bir cihaz geli\u015ftirmeyi ba\u015fard\u0131. Bu \u00e7al\u0131\u015fma, o y\u0131llarda geli\u015ftirilmeye ba\u015flanan sesli komut sistemidir. NASA ilk olarak bu projeyi astronotlar\u0131n uzay gemilerini komut vererek y\u00f6netebilmeleri i\u00e7in ba\u015flatm\u0131\u015ft\u0131r.<\/p>\n\n<p>H\u00fcseyin Y\u0131lmaz, 1965 y\u0131l\u0131nda Boston&#8217;da bulunan Northeastern \u00dcniversitesi&#8217;nden fahri profes\u00f6rl\u00fck ald\u0131. Konferanslar\u0131ndan birisini dinlemeye gelen Karen Han\u0131m&#8217;la evlendi ve 3 \u00e7ocuklar\u0131 oldu. 1969 y\u0131l\u0131nda Winchester, Massachusetts&#8217;de kurdu\u011fu Alg\u0131 Teknolojileri \u015eirketi (Perception Technology Corporation) NASA ile ba\u015far\u0131l\u0131 projeler y\u00fcr\u00fctt\u00fc. Y\u0131lmaz, Amerikan devletinin pek \u00e7ok kurumu i\u00e7in konu\u015fma tan\u0131ma ve sesli komutla ilgili ArGe projelerine imza att\u0131.<\/p>\n<p>Y\u0131lmaz, geli\u015ftirdi\u011fi ve ad\u0131n\u0131 verdi\u011fi k\u00fctle\u00e7ekim teorisi ve fizik bilimine yapt\u0131\u011f\u0131 \u00f6nemli katk\u0131lar\u0131 geride b\u0131rakarak, 2013 y\u0131l\u0131nda hayata veda etti.
